Vanilla Ice Cream

Easy, homemade vanilla ice cream can't be beat!

One thing my entire family requests all summer long…ice cream!!  It’s super easy to make Vanilla Ice Cream at home and so delicious!

Easy, homemade vanilla ice cream can't be beat!

I have this hang up about taking all 4 of my kids out for ice cream….if you go to one of the specialty ice cream shops in our area it’s at least $5 per person.  I can buy an entire tub of premium ice cream for that and serve everyone twice!  So for the most part, unless it’s a special occasion, I try to make ice cream to have on hand at home which is super delicious after spending the evening at the beach 😉

Have you ever paid extra for the fancy chocolate sprinkles cone at the ice cream shop?  Those are super easy to make at home and add a little fun to any occasion where you’ll be serving ice cream…homemade or not.  Use sprinkles to match your mood or party decor and you’ll be so festive you won’t know what to do with yourself.

Easy to make at home, Dipped Ice Cream Cones take your favorite summer treat to the next level!

Make dipped ice cream cones:

Melt 1 cup chocolate chips and 1 teaspoon of coconut oil (or shortening) in the microwave at 30 second intervals until melted and smooth.  Dip top side of the cone into melted chocolate and then into sprinkles of your choice.  Place top side down on a wax paper lined baking sheet.  Allow to harden before enjoying with your favorite ice cream.

This vanilla ice cream recipe is our family’s absolute favorite.  I love, love, love my Kitchenaid ice cream maker attachment with a serious passion.  This recipe does, however, use raw eggs.  We’ve never had a problem in the many years that I’ve made this, but if this bothers you try vanilla milk gelato instead.
