Nudel Gratin

Nudel Gratin | Crumbs and Chaos Last month my family went to Walt Disney World on vacation…the trip itself was a little too exhausting to really be called a vacation, but the kids had a blast.  One of my favorite parts of the trip was visiting Epcot’s World Showcase and seeing the different countries (and their food!) represented there.  I enjoyed the food at Germany the most – my husband and I shared a fabulous reuben sandwich with a side of nudel gratin.  Ohmygoodness…the nudel gratin was insanely delicious and I was looking forward to making it at home.

I had already decided to join Rachel and Brandy in their Mac & Cheese Mania, so I had the perfect reason to make it.  What’s Mac & Cheese Mania?  Read more at the bottom of this post.

My favorite part of this Nudel Gratin is the way the swiss cheese flavor comes through.  I put mine in a small cast iron skillet to bake, but a small baking dish will do just fine.  It’s the perfect decadent side dish for a steak, pork or poultry main dish.  Feel free to double the recipe if you’re serving a larger crowd.  You just can’t go wrong with mac & cheese!
