Apples have always been one of my favorite fruits. I typically prefer mine green and cold if eating them raw. But I absolutely LOVE warm apples with cinnamon or eating them in any sort of pie or baked good or drinking a fresh glass of cidar. And of course with caramel is a never fail. When I saw this Apple Pie Salsa on Pinterest I knew it would be a winner. It was very easy to make and when served with Cinnamon Sugar Pita Chips it was delicious. It would be a wonderful addition to any tailgating party or fall get together.
Apple Pie Salsa
- 2 cups APPLE, peeled, cored, and diced small
- 2 Tablespoons LEMON JUICE
- 3 Tablespoons BROWN SUGAR
- ¼ teaspoon CINNAMON
- 1 1/2 teaspoons CORNSTARCH
- 1 1/2 teaspoons WATER
Place apples, lemon juice, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a small saucepan and stir to combine. Bring to a boil and cook until juice has been extracted from the apples. Dissolve cornstarch in water and add to apple mixture. Return to a boil until thickened. Serve with Cinnamon Sugar Pita Chips. ENJOY!!
