Protein Balls

July 19, 2012 By Crumbs and Chaos

Spread the love
As you know, we love sweets around here!  We really can’t get enough of the Reese’s Cheesecake Brownies, Butterfinger Oreo Ice Cream Dessert, and Oatmeal Cream Pies. However, I am always looking for a snack that is healthy and filling for my boys.  Something they can eat that they LOVE and something that I don’t mind giving them whenever they are ready for a snack.  When my mother-in-law introduced me to these protein balls we were instantly in love!  They are the perfect snacking size and pretty filling too.  Everything in them is good for you and there is no added sugar or preservatives.  You can keep them in the fridge and snack whenever or in the freezer for an extra cold treat, although slightly harder to eat they keep a little longer.  They are the perfect replacement for the afternoon cookie or sugary treat.  They will add protein to your diet and are a must for any peanut butter lover!

Protein Balls

Ingredients

  • 2 cups OATMEAL
  • 1 cup PROTEIN POWDER
  • 3/4 cup WHEATGERM
  • 1 cup RAISINS
  • 1 cup ALMONDS, sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups NATURAL PEANUT BUTTER
  • 3/4 cup HONEY

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl combine all ingredients (I usually end up using my hands because it can be difficult to stir). When combined, form into 1 inch balls and place on a parchment lined baking sheet. Place in freezer to set. Once set transfer to a plastic container. You can then either leave in the freezer and use as needed or put in the freezer so they stay at a softer consistency. ENJOY!
