My husband was looking through a fitness magazine the other day and came across a Smoothie Matrix. This is a perfect blend of protein, carbohydrates and natural fats. He’s been drinking this every day since! We’re trying to add a few more healthy things to our diet and what better way than to blend a few things up and drink it!
1 Cup greek yogurt (non-fat, plain)
12 almonds (natural)
1 Tablespoon Chia Seeds* or Flaxseed if you prefer
2-3 ice cubes
1 Cup of frozen fruit (We used strawberries)
3/4 Cup Water
Combine ingredients and blend until smooth.
*Chia Seeds are a great source of hydration, low glycemic and a great boost of energy. You can add this to any of your favorite foods or beverages.
