1 – 16 oz bag regular or miniature marshmallows
1 – 2 lb bag confectioner’s sugar
2 Tablespoons water
2 teaspoons vanilla
Grease a glass bowl and a mixing bowl. Place water, marshmallows, and vanilla in the glass bowl. Microwave on high for 60 seconds. Stir, and if not completely melted microwave for another 30 seconds. (If you want to color it, add the color to the melted marshmallows. I used wilton icing coloring in royal blue.) Meanwhile, sift half the bag of powdered sugar in the mixing bowl. Pour the melted marshmallows on top of it and stir until incorporated. Then add the rest of the powdered sugar.
When mixed, place on greased saran wrap. Wrap and place in an airtight container. Allow no air to get to it. Let it set until cool. When ready to use, grease the table. Then roll it out. Making sure the rolling pin and table are VERY well greased. Roll it until it is 1/16th of an inch thick. Carefully lift and place on frosted cake. Smooth over and down the edges. Cut off at base.
